Henkel Home Office Program in Brazil

Committed with the strong focus Henkel has been giving to Flexible Working Conditions and Quality of Life, the Business Executive Committee of the Mercosur region approved a new Home Office Program in Brazil.

Since September 2012, each eligible individual can agree with his superior on 1 day per week in which he/she can work outside Henkel premises. It’s about focusing on performance and deliverables, instead of presence.

 

This initiative has been very well perceived by the employees, since it helps people to manage their different journeys in a more convenient way, especially in heavy traffic locations like São Paulo.

The main challenge faced by the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, who proposed and lead the program, was to develop a policy that could be applied to the Henkel locations in Brazil, which are mostly hosted in a typical production site.  Therefore, eligibility criteria have been carefully discussed: activities which require physical presence or which depend on the handling of equipment, machinery and documents are not eligible.

The Committee is confident that among all the benefits, this initiative will support Henkel to attract and to retain highly skilled talents.
