Question 1

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Throughout my childhood I did not have any specific job or role in mind. Only later, during the last years of school, did I decide that I wanted to become a lawyer.


Question 2

What has motivated you to take on a position of high responsibility within Henkel?

My main motivation is that Henkel gives me the opportunity to influence business development from my area of responsibility. There is a lot of freedom to act, implement new ideas and move things. Also the direction Henkel is taking and the values we are building our business on are big motivational factors. For me, they show a clear future perspective.


Question 3

What were the milestones in your career and are there people or circumstances that have favored your career?

My career started right at Henkel. After having worked in the Law Group in Düsseldorf for a couple of years, an important step for me was the move to the Law Group Southern Europe based in Milan. The offer to move back to Düsseldorf after two years and change to HR was of course also an important milestone. All my way through Henkel there have always been people who supported me and, looking back, this was an important factor throughout all different assignments.

What is your advice to women seeking to build careers?

Don’t hesitate or question yourself too much – just follow your own plans. Build up a strong network within Henkel and gain the support of your supervisor.
