When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a successful business woman.

What has motivated you to take on a position of high responsibility within Henkel?

My wish to have a big influence on business and be involved in long-term strategic decisions.


Question 3

What were the milestones in your career and are there people or circumstances that have favored your career?

I have managed to work my way up from a regional controller role (lower management level) to the positions of Chief Financial Officer of China and Vice President Finance Asia Pacific (middle management), and then take on a General Manager position for China in the Cosmetics business (retail and professional) on top management level.  There have been many good mentors, colleagues and peers along my career development path at Henkel.

What is your advice to women seeking to build careers?

Believe in yourself. Achieving a career does not necessary mean sacrificing family. There can always find a right balance that can fit both sides. Women are just as strong as men.
