Question 1

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

It was clear to me that I wanted to have my own family with two kids and be happy. Professionally, it was not really clear to me. Since I was a teenager I wanted to work in a big company, work with a lot of people, or even run my own business.

Question 2

What has motivated you to take on a position of high responsibility within Henkel?

I like real challenges and I love to continue learning.

Question 3

What were the milestones in your career and are there people or circumstances that have favored your career?

My milestones included studying in one of the best Management universities, ESADE, in Barcelona with an international degree at McGill University, Canada; starting as Assistant Brand Manager at Henkel, Barcelona, and learning about marketing and business in general across different brand management positions; two years of sales experience, getting to know the ‘real’ business; become Marketing Director Home Care Spain & Portugal and later Marketing Director UW Spain, learning about business perspectives and people management (a position made even more challenging by the economic crisis in Spain); International Marketing Director Household Cleaning & Specialties at headquarters.

Question 4

What is your advice to women seeking to build careers?

Be honest with yourself and know what you really want. Have a good partner to share family responsibilities, not delegate but share. Everything is about organization/planning and willingness.
