“Trust yourself! Strive for excellence when entering a new job but do not expect to be perfect in everything from the very beginning. It is the new, higher challenges which keep you learning and developing further!”
|Business Unit:||Human Resources|
|Division:||Human Resources Central Eastern Europe|
|Job title:||Vice President Human Resources Henkel CEE|
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Archeologist, physician, researcher – I wanted to accomplish something extraordinary and special.
What has motivated you to take on a position of high responsibility within Henkel?
Curiosity, ambition, commitment to the new responsibility and a new perspective.
What were the milestones in your career and are there people or circumstances that have favored your career?
A big milestone for me was moving from Slovakia to Austria and thus gaining a new cultural and regional perspective. Later it was changing responsibilities from the L&HC marketing department to Training and development and later Business partnership in Human Resources. All these positions required different perspectives which substantially contribute to my work by today.
As for career, I believe that the very basics are: a natural commitment to develop and learn, the ambition to (over)achieve and having a good sense for cooperation and networking.
What is your advice to women seeking to build careers?
“Trust yourself! Strive for excellence when entering a new job but do not expect to be perfect in everything from the very beginning.
It is the new, higher challenges which keep you learning and developing further.
On your path, keep looking for opportunities, take healthy risks and ask for what you deserve for your accomplishments. Build useful networks and use them. Take responsibility and keep developing yourself!
